Sharad Pawar is a prominent Indian politician and the current chief of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). He played a crucial role in the formation of the Shiv Sena–BJP coalition government in Maharashtra in 1995, but later parted ways with the alliance. In 1999, he formed the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), which quickly gained popularity in Maharashtra and other states.

He has served as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra four times, making him one of the most successful politicians from the state. He has also held key portfolios such as Minister of Defence, Minister of Agriculture, and Minister of Food Processing Industries at the national level.
